La Tamborrada is celebrated every year on January the 20th (San Sebastian Feast). Adults and children march across the city in different companies dressed as soldiers and cooks, playing their drums.
The city flag is risen at midnight and lowered at the end of the 24 hour celebration. Main meeting point is at Plaza Constitucion in the heart of the Old Part (Parte Vieja).

The tradition comes from the military actions that took place at the end of the 18th century, when locals where making fun of marching soldiers making processions with buckets from water pumps.
All schools live this custom with passion and there are numerous companies marching with children below 6 years. So cute and so enjoyable.....
